Where Jesus Slept (Review and Giveaway)

About the book:

“This is the bed where Jesus slept. This is the straw that lined the bed where Jesus slept.” From here, the story builds with each spread, adding a new element and explaining the relationships among the participants and witnesses to the first Christmas. From Jesus sleeping sweetly to the wise men bringing gifts, this charming book reminds readers young and not-so-young of the joyous event we celebrate at Christmastime. Children will love the delightful illustrations and the engaging repetition in this cumulative tale.

My Thoughts About The Book;

The book is wrote in a nice repetition that will keep the child’s attention. It capitalizes some of the key words which makes a child realize they are important parts of the story. The illustrations of the book are so well drawn and detailed. They caught a lot of attention in our home. Katy Hudson done a wonderful job.

“This is the STABLE

that sheltered the COW

that shared the STRAW

that lined the BED

where JESUS slept.”

I highly recommend this book to everyone to buy and even if you are searching for a perfect gift idea this could be it. I know it’s a Christmas time story but I would suggest it being a book added to a child’s library to read all year long. It has a wonderful meaning and is a really special book.

Our family does a story for 25 days of Christmas. The books are wrapped and placed into a basket. Then each night before bed time one child gets to pick a book. We unwrap the book and read it as our bedtime story. Then we talk about the book and its meaning. It’s a wonderful way to spend time with my children. Maybe you could do this with your family too.

My oldest daughter read it a few times before reading it to the youngest sibling.

Her review in her own words; Baby Jesus was born and everyone came there. It showed where he was and his mother Mary and it was baby Jesus bed, hay, and where he slept. Mary would check on baby Jesus. Then the three wise men followed the star to baby Jesus and brought him gifts.

  1. A special gift was the year my parent’s surprised me with a trip. There was a trip that my dad was going on and he took me with him. He made a scrapbook to tell me all about the trip that we were going to go on. I still have the book many, many years later!
